Intimate Houston Elopement

Manny and Joshua were such a dream to work with during their intimate Houston elopement. It was so much fun bringing their vision to life and being able to document it for them. From the getting ready part of the day to the post-ceremony drinks, this elopement was one to remember.

Getting Ready

To start with, Manny and Joshua allowed me to document the moment they were getting ready. This part of an elopement is often looked over but is so important to document such an intimate time between a couple. Imagine your last few minutes/hours before saying “I do” captured in time. From stolen kisses and helping each other get ready, those are moments that helps feel the connection through each image.

Getting Ready Location

Manny and Joshua rented a hotel room at the Hotel ICON in Downtown Houston. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous and has beautiful decor and vintage architecture. It used to be a bank so a lot of the original architecture and decor is still there. There is a fee to be able to take photos inside the hotel (even if you book a room at that hotel) so make sure to talk to the hotel before your session/elopement. If your budget allows for that fee, I 100% recommend staying at that hotel and getting some photos done inside.

Elopement Details

Details are such and important part during an elopement. Often people forget about the details because an elopement is not a “big wedding”. But adding details during your elopement, makes the day extra special. Manny and Joshua added keepsakes to remember their loved ones. They also decided to add some champagne to celebrate their day.

Elopement Ceremony Location

The ceremony took place at the 1910 Harris County Courthouse. Manny and Joshua decided on having their ceremony inside a courtroom which was perfect for their attire. Sadly, this courthouse doesn’t allow ceremonies inside the courtrooms anymore but you can still have your ceremony in the rotunda area of the courthouse.

After Ceremony / Family Photos

After the ceremony, Manny and Joshua got to take photos with their family members right outside of the courthouse. This is a perfect opportunity to capture your photos with all your loved ones that were able to witness your ceremony. Don’t forget to get photos of just you and your partner around the building and enjoy the beautiful historical architecture.

Couples Portraits at Hotel Icon

Lastly, Manny and Joshua decided to head back to the hotel to take some more portraits together. The beautiful architecture inside the hotel complimented perfectly the outfits that Manny and Joshua wore.
