5 Maternity Photoshoot Ideas

Planning Your Maternity Photoshoot

If you’re looking to find more maternity photoshoot ideas to incorporate during your session, you have come to the right place. As a maternity photographer, there’s nothing better than being able to capture the last few moments of those beautiful baby bumps. It’s truly so magical being able to freeze those precious moments in time. Whether it’s at a serene park, cozy studio, or the beach, the options for maternity photoshoots are endless, and you can always add your own unique touch to any photoshoot.

Studio and Some Florals

First, when it comes to studio photoshoots, there’s so much you can do. You can use a mix of comfy chairs and backdrops while the soft lighting makes it a cozy atmosphere. It’s all about creating a relaxed vibe where you can feel totally at ease. On the plus side, you don’t have to worry about the weather or outside distractions.

For this session, this couple decided to use a studio that looks more like a home. I loved how it gave such a cozy and intimate feeling. We also added some hanging florals for a different looked and I absolutely love the end result!

Relaxing at the Park

Next, for a more natural and earthy vibe, why not head to the park? Surrounded by greenery and blooming flowers, it’s the ideal setting for a whimsical maternity photoshoot.

Taking photos at a park can help capture laughter, dancing, and the beauty pregnancy. Plus, parks are great for including older siblings or furry family members in the pictures!

This session for Victoria was absolute stunning. The spring weather was perfect for this type of photoshoot. I fell in love with the peace and stillness these type of photos gave.

Holiday Themed

If you’re expecting during a holiday season, why not incorporate some festive decor into your maternity shoot? Think twinkling lights, cozy sweaters, and maybe even a Santa hat or two! Whether it’s Fall season, Christmas, or Valentine’s Day, we’ll deck the halls (or the studio) and capture the joy and excitement of this special time of year. It’s a fun way to add a touch of personality to your photos!

For example, this session was during the fall and the couple decided to add a small pumpkin with the first letter of their baby’s name. It definitely a cute and fun way to incorporate the holidays around the baby’s due date.

Maternity Photoshoot at Beach

For those beach lovers, taking maternity photos at the shore can be so dreamy and fun. With the sound of the waves and the feel of the sand between your toes, you are definitely going to get the chance to get those perfect candid photos. We can stroll along the shoreline or splash some water around. And don’t worry about getting your feet wet – that just adds to the adventure!

I loved this session so much because of the freedom you have at the beach. It’s definitely perfect for family. You can let your little ones explore the water and see them react to the first time feeling the sand under their little feet.

Intimate Maternity Photoshoot

Last but not least, let’s talk about intimate maternity shoots. These are all about capturing the raw and real moments. Whether it’s you and your partner cuddling on the couch, sharing a sweet kiss, or simply photoshoots of just mom in a more intimate setting, these photos will be filled with warmth and emotion.

For this session, I loved how intimate yet freeing it was. The mommy-to-be really embraced her pregnancy and displayed how beautiful the maternity stage can be.

So there you have it – all these different maternity photoshoot ideas.
